The proposal is to discover the ceramics that have marked the craftsmanship and artistic production in Umbria, from the Middle Ages to the present day, visiting local museums. Particularly remarkable is, in fact, the heritage of artistic ceramics kept in many museums of the region, some of which completely intended for ceramic production: in Deruta, the Regional Museum of Ceramics, the Factory Museum "Ubaldo Grazia majolica", the Foundation Contemporary author's ceramic "Alviero Moretti"; in Gualdo Tadino, the Opificio Rubboli Museum and the Ceramics Museum in luster; in Gubbio, the Museum of the luster Majolica "Torre di Porta Romana"; in Umbertide, the Rometti Gallery; in Torgiano, the Wine Museum (MUVIT) and the Museum of Contemporary Art Ceramics (MACC).
Deruta, Gualdo Tadino, Gubbio and Orvieto, are the main centers of irradiation of the artistic pottery of the last five-six centuries.
In addition to museums specifically dedicated to pottery produced in the centers of ancient tradition, there are other facilities dedicated to household pottery and brick building, or to the artists ceramics and to works strongly influenced by industrial innovations.
